Will drone auditors cancel our freedoms?
A very small number of drone audit channels are using drones to intentionally cause confrontation with the Police, private security staff and the general public. The more aggravation they cause the more views they get and the more money they make. This pointless harassment looks like it's getting more violent and damaging the reputation of legitimate drone operators. If this continues to grow, the authorities will be forced to act... which could stop us all.
What's the answer? (Well it's not to give them more views!)

As long as the "drone auditors" are not doing anything illegal, then it should not be a problem! So many people are too uptight, and they do not want to play by the rules... So they harass people who might be taking pictures but who are not doing anything wrong! Many people are truly unaware that we individuals have any freedoms what so ever... Those people need to be informed!
These moronic channels have only one goal namely to irritate people and get a response, who has nay genuine interest in the incredibly boring things that these channels want to film
Thanks, that was really helpful. Much appreciated
Lets all just save up and buy the Venice, problem solved 😆
I really like the area, could you tell me which place is it that you are standing on the beach at 06:00min ? :-) thanks
Unless there's any journalistic or public interest in what these idiots are doing, they should all be slapped with new harassment laws and forced to apply for a license to use a drone or even a long lens.
Balderdash!
I call them “Frauditors”. They “audit” nothing whatsoever, they seem to revel in causing confrontation. Upsetting business owners all for clicks on their videos. The sooner the government introduce a law banning these idiots, the better.
Like you say, the solution for land owners / companies that interact with these muppets is to either ignore them or to put on a nice bit of copyright music in the background before talking to them as they will soon get bored if they keep getting demonetised.
very simple to remove background music in post these days. A non issue. But yes, why can't folk keep their noses out of others folks business. Photography is NOT a crime!
Auditing serves a VITAL role in highlighting tyrants, pompous pricks full of their own self entitlement and overall they work to keep our rights and freedoms in tact when they are at serious risk of being heavily eroded. The government and private businesses film us dozens of times per day, why should we not be able to film them? Be it from above or ground level? What have they got to hide? Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.... when a crime is committed the police always ask for help from the public with camera evidence, yet try in their ignorance to stop us filming... WTF! A simple 'solution' to stop auditors would be to demonetize the channel. Funny how RUclips loves the ad revenue too though isn't it? I smell hypocrisy. We should always be allowed to call out/highlight bullying, bad work practices and rather than criticism towards auditors, we should educate the public, businesses and the police to not freak out at the sight of someone taking pictures. Sheesh!!! There is NO right to privacy in public and for the sake of freedom let's hope that situation is forever maintained.
In principle, I don't disagree with you at all. Auditing can provide a vital role in highlighting wrongdoing by governments and businesses. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the intent of the very small number of drone channels I'm referring to. If you go out of your way to harass or intentionally cause confrontation with everyone you meet, you're not highlighting any tyrants... you are the entitled prick. Eventually this will inevitably lead to our rights and freedoms being curtailed.
@@extrashot Thanks for largely agreeing. I am not an auditor btw, nor wish to be and I considered a similar stance to you at first regarding one or two auditors who do obviously provoke situations to gain a reaction, no doubt, but DJ flies his drone over commercial buildings from public footpaths and there is no way any one should believe that they have the authority to question any member of the public about anything they are legally doing in public, and he highlights this time and again, and we should herald him and not knock him in my view. Exercise one's rights, or risk having them taken away! I am a big believer in that. Your channel provides some great info by the way. Cheers.
I'm more concerned by the fact that everyone keeps asking me if I'm an 'auditor' when I fly a drone..... Saying that, this case law is important - Bernstein of Leigh (Baron) v Skyviews & General Ltd. [1978] QB 479. The outdated, (non Roman, yet invented in 1766 and written in Latin) legal maxim - 'cuius est solum ejus est usque ad coelum et ad inferos’ (ad coelum doctrine ).
I didn't know about that case... and you're right, it is very important. It appears to contain the principles that continue to guide the CAA today. Thank you for that. I haven't had anyone asking if I'm an auditor yet... that would be concerning!
I've flown both fixed wing and silent flight RC for over 30 years. For all this times modellers have come under the British Model Flying Association, since these bellends have been out out and about, not flying safely, to the CAA Air Nav and the BMFA guidelines, we've seen oit RC hobby been decimated by regulations due to drone flyers
The same for car drivers...(that's right, blame those pesky car drivers)
Yes the people do these videos for likes and subscribers however it's do different to any other RUclips channel people do it to grow their channel mostly and yes it's legal how they fly their drones me personally I wouldn't do this types of videos because I don't like Confrontation when I do a video I normally fly early in the morning and where their isn't many people around for Obvious reasons but these drone videos don't do the drone industry any favours either. So it's probably a matter of time before the CAA in Britain and probably were I live in Australia 🇦🇺 drone rules will be Tightened as a result of videos like these 🙄
That's the big fear... the so called 'auditors' will cause all of us to lose the very freedoms they claim to uphold !
I Agree ! BTW , what a wonderful lighthouse footage !
They don't just 'audit' with drones, there is a RUclips 'auditor' covering many different subjects. One of the worst is police 'auditors'. These people create situations so that police are called and then do their best to provoke an inappropriate response from the officers. This isn't holding a mirror up to bad practice within the police force, all it does is tie up valuable police time with nothing. I got a lot of flak from one American 'auditor' and his followers by questioning his methods and the fact he was taking up the time of a number of police officers. In particular I was interested what he would think if a member of his family were being attacked but couldn't be helped because the police were responding to him instead. In the case of the video I watched, the police conducted themselves perfectly but the 'auditor' and his viewers disagreed. It's crazy that people like this even exist and that there is an audience for them. Like you said - 'a tiny minority ruining it for everyone else'
Lets hope you know your rights then when you are in a situation where police know that you are not aware of your rights. Example: Sarah Everard. 'Provoking' police is a way of making sure they police by consent. Simple concept. Agreed, some 'auditors' are a nuisance.
@@ef7480 Here's another one who has totally missed the point. It would be right If these so-called 'auditors' were showing genuine situations where they had witnessed police bending/breaking the rules during a real incident. However, these 'auditors' create fake situations and then deliberately try to provoke the police. This is wasting police time. They do it NOT to try and improve police behaviour, they do it purely for profit.
@@ef7480 some police are thugs in uniform, and some are ill informed on the laws. Some are ok.
@@deaniweenie you haven't watched enough if that's your observation. Like people say Farage is a racist or Tommy R just because that's what the BBC or Daily Mail has said...BS
@@ianchappytube Again - you're missing the point here. Maybe you're doing it deliberately, maybe you're a so-called 'auditor' yourself. What you are showing is your true colours and allegiances. Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson are racists not because of what the media says, they are racist because of what they have said and done on camera themselves. You don't deserve a response but here it is anyway. Personally, I haven't watched any news or read any newspapers since the start of Covid when they were being reckless trying to stir up trouble. I wouldn't read The Daily Mail even with a gun to my head, I have way too much self respect. As far as these so-called 'auditors' are concerned, I have no problem with police or any authority being held to account. I have no problem with people showing genuine rule/lawbreaking situations. What I have a problem with is these so-called auditors creating fake situations to try and provoke a response (that they rarely get) which wastes valuable police time. These so-called 'auditors' are NOT doing it to make the world a better or safer place, they are NOT doing it for you and I or broader society, they ARE doing it solely for profit. They are doing it to line their own pockets. So - they are deliberately wasting police time (which we all pay for) to make money for themselves. It does not move the process forward, it does not change anything. All it does is create revenue for the 'auditors'.
Good video there is a need to do something about these idiots.
Balderdash!
Oh so that’s why it looks so good, I’m watching in HDR 👍
More Paul please!
Never seen any of these videos before. I'm tempted to search it and see some of the nonsense happening... but I also don't want my feed to start showing them.
That's the danger... I really don't want to encourage them! 👍
Yes: this reflects my reaction when I stumbled across one of these videos: legal but moronic.
so the law is moronic hmmm!
You are right and laws will be changed when some government big wig has a stake in some company where an audit is done and they raise it in parliament
hopefully, there would be enough opposition to vote them down with common sense!
@@ianchappytube did you just mention common sense in relation to our government?
36th vew
These channels serve zero journalistic purpose they are purely aimed at irritating people with the hope of confrontation
you haven't watched enough, otherwise you would NOT make such an ill informed comment.

What about Premiere Pro?
That’s for this video. I’m a long time Fs7mkii owner and have to upgrade so ive been going back and forth between this in my head a lot.
love your video!!
Just stumbled upon your channel. The Burano would fit well for the variety of projects I do from corp/commercial to independent film. But the price is steep. So I adapted a wait & see approach here in my market. If it takes off, I'll do it. BUT I'm not opposed to buying a used FS7 on Ebay for corp/Commercial work and a Blackmagic Pyxis for Indie films. Heck, the FS7 still works on jobs and I'll save a tone of money!
Ahh, the thinking mans choice! Obviously it depends on what clients you've got, but I totally agree with you. The FS7 is still a 4K version of the F5, and it's going for a song right now. I love the Blackmagic look if you're wanting a more cinematic feel, so it would be a really cost effective combo. If only Blackmagic could support 'E' Mount. !!! I have a feeling that if Sony had called the Burano the FX9ii (and knocked 10k off the price) we wouldn't be having these conversations. It would be flying off the shelves! Take care.
And so the cycle continues
Bonjour monsieur je voudrais savoir la Sony fx 6 elle bien ou pas??
bien
Ah, but uhm, yeah, there is a problem because at some point in the future they will want to make curved-sensors. At the moment, they aren't mass-producible, but when/if they are, all current lenses will be obsolete and that is not just a problem for the consumer. Manufacturers will want to milk flat-sensors for as long as possible to recoup all the lens R&D. Then when everyone/nearly-everyone is perceived to have a lens for a flat-sensor, boom! Out comes the curved-sensor tech. A bit like what happened with DSLR/SLT to mirrorless. So even if you get your 12K double-stacked sensor, if it's flat, it still isn't the perfect camera. If they put everything in the same camera they wouldn't make as much money because camera-users make different amounts of money. The more features you need, the worse the value is, but you need those features so you'll pay more etc. Plus there are fewer pro-level users so more has to be charged to recoup the smaller production-runs. Ideally they'd make only one camera and software-lock everything(and people *_really_* hate that, but with cameras it is all the ports and dedicated switches that adds value to the user and really ups the cost of manufacture and you can't software-lock those.
Your reviews are, by far the best on the web. Keep up the good work!
Sony has been in the video business as long as the business existed. They know what they are doing. Purposely hamstringing a brand new camera just so you can push new model year later is a very effective marketing strategy.
Not really, it just makes me hate them even more. I am literally waiting for the day for panasonic to get back in to the high end cine camera game again then its adios Sony for good
It has been true since FX6 came out... FX9 just needs an upgrade.
I’m actually awaiting that Sony launches the next generation FX6. I’d like to buy it right now but it’s too risky as it already has been in the market for some time now. I guess it won’t take long at the pace Sony launches new cameras.
Bruhs, I have be paying attention to be able to tell the difference between even 720 and 1080p -this feat is impossible with anime.- I'm pretty sure whatever makes a 4/8k video look better to me has to do with anything except the resolution.
Sunny? You mean Sony?
Thank you for explaining 😊
You can do it since Davinci 18.5. But no it is not "RAW".
I went from FS7 to FX9 last year. Now, 1 year later I would say that I could have kept my FS7. While FX9 has amazing autofocus, and the image is gorgeous, it has so many flaws like: - No full frame 60p S&Q mode. - When you change crop modes the camera forgets what framerate you had in S&Q mode (this suck so hard) - FX9 is bigger, heavier, and bulkier. - FX9 eats 50% more power than FS7. - No autofocus in slow motion (S&Q mode). This is a big flaw! So I got myself a full frame camera that I rarely use in FF because of no quick slow motion option.
Wow your narrative is great and love the insight you gave.🎉
Is it possible to apply those settings to a Canon camera?
So annoying that Davinci Resolve doesn't support Prores RAW and that the Atomos ninja doesn't give an option to record in CinemaDNG. Tbh this is the reason I haven't bought a Atomos ninja, I wasn't going to start converting my footage this isn't 2005. Sony All-intra is Netflix approved so good enough for me, great to see it holds up in your video.
Moral of the story: Don't buy the Burano
I really wish DaVinci would offer this offer for Panasonic V-Log as well. It would be a huge help :)
Great video
Would this work on A7SIII footage as well?
I think it only works with imported MXF files... so in order for it to work with the A7Siii you'd need to transcode using Catalyst Browse. Then it should work fine. 👍
@@extrashot Maybe it's possible by changing the metadata in the sidecar xml file from and A7Siii to report the footage as coming from an FX3. Does anyone have a clip + sidecar file (mp4 + xml) from an FX3 (or FX30) they can send me to test with?
Nikon’s acquisition of RED may be game changing. I don’t think they’ll open up the patent for general use, but I hope they’ll allow affordable licensing to unlock the format on cameras in the next generation.
Best we can hope for
I believe the patent expires in 2028 anyway
I also think it is strange that Blackmagic doesn’t support ProRes RAW. It seems they generally have a good relationship with Apple. However someone pointed out to me that the reason may be a deal between Atomos and Apple. I don’t remember the details but it seems Atomos is not a fan of BM, and the deal with Apple may have included some sort of exclusion of BM at least for a couple of years. Atomos helped Apple launch ProRes RAW, and Atomos devices are still the main way to capture ProRes RAW. Hopefully that deal between Apple and Atomos was limited in duration, and that we may soon see inclusion in DaVinci Resolve. Maybe in Resolve 19 this year? XAVC is good in terms of dynamic range. The main benefit of RAW and 2 more bits per channel is in white balance. One reason the RAW you test here isn’t as good, it probably because DaVinci Resolve color science isn’t properly attuned to the footage. You have done your best, but I think Resolve would do a better job it if natively supported the files and could appropriately apply a Sony RAW profile. Regarding external RAW recording. I also hope Sony soon will allow external Blackmagic RAW like many other camera manufacturers.
Its more like BM isn't a fan of Atomos. Some of the BM guys left BM to form atomos and apparently took some info they shouldn't have with them, or so its said, either way, the users are the ones who are suffering from it.
I didn't know about BM and Atomos falling out... makes more sense. Not sure about BRAW on Sony... thing is they already have XOCN on the cinema line, and that's brilliant?
So is it possible to completely disable NR on the FX3 now, like on the FX6, 9, Burano and Venice? Would be great.
